Land Rover Defender All Blacks Is Europeans Showing Americans They Too Have Truck Skills: America is full of amazing pickup vehicles. These automobiles, whether factory or custom, have become synonymous with American motoring. Of course, pickup trucks are revered elsewhere, but Europe is probably not the first place you think of.
Because the continent is small and populated, pickup trucks have never taken off. That doesn’t imply there aren’t any such vehicles or European custom shops that play in this segment.
Heritage Customs in the Netherlands has become famous for tinkering with Land Rover Defender and Range Rover vehicles. Heritage likes to customize these vehicles like pickup trucks.
Most recently, Land Rover debuted the Defender 130 Valiance in June. The All Blacks, another 130-based Defender pickup truck, debuted this fall. The New Zealand All Blacks are one of the world’s most successful rugby teams. The latest Heritage build was inspired by these three Rugby World Cup winners, who have nothing to do with Land Rover or pickup vehicles.
Heritage painted almost every inch of the Defender in black and added blacked-out details to emphasize the team’s bond. The premium finish is evident underneath. Leather and Alcantara cover the Defender’s interior, with black stitching and silver accents to emphasize the All Blacks’ relationship.
The Defender’s many unique options, like other Heritage models, set it apart. The company offers unlimited customization options, including paint finishes and interior trim.
So completely Blacks need not be completely black. No advertised mechanical improvements are made to the original car. Heritage Customs installs 22-inch in-house forged wheels to complement the unique design.
The build price is unknown. The bespoke store doesn’t indicate how much it would cost, but prior history suggests it’ll be costly. The Valiance I described costs roughly $166,000.
