Applesauce Oatmeal Breakfast Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3/4 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs room temperature
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 3/4 cups unsweetened applesauce
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg optional
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 1/2 tsps baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius). Place parchment paper on the bottom of the pan as well as on two sides of the pan so that the cake can be removed with ease.
Prepare the two sides by lightly greasing them without using parchment paper, and then set them aside. Approximately two cups of apples should be cut up.
Blend together the following ingredients in a bowl of medium size: flour, cornstarch, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix everything together, then leave it aside.
Put the butter that has been softened and the white sugar in a large bowl. To achieve a light and fluffy texture, beat it for two to three minutes at a medium pace. It is imperative that you scrape the sides of the dish.
Bring the eggs, vanilla extract, and applesauce to a boil. Continue mixing at a medium speed until the mixture is completely smooth.

When the dry ingredients have been incorporated, use a spatula to gently fold them together until a batter is formed. To avoid overmixing!
Cut the apples into little bits and put them to the bowl when you have done so. Take care not to overmix the ingredients; instead, mix them gently until they are just blended.
Evenly distribute the batter into the pan that has been prepared. Cinnamon and white sugar should be combined in a small cup and then stirred together. After that, sprinkle it evenly on top. This will result in a sweet and crispy topping for you.
