Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cauliflower (about 2-3 cups, cut into florets)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or a gluten-free flour blend)
  • 1 cup water (or non-dairy milk for extra flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for drizzling)
  • Celery sticks and ranch or blue cheese dressing (for serving)

Instructions

Wash the cauliflower and cut it into pieces that are easy to eat. For even cooking, make sure they are about the same size.

Put the flour, water (or non-dairy milk), onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Use a whisk to make things smooth and well mixed.

Make sure that every cauliflower floret is fully covered in oil before you fry it. Remove any extra oil from the florets and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Warm up your air fryer to 200°C (400°F). For 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy, shake the basket every so often to make sure the food cooks evenly.

Put the cauliflower back in the air fryer basket with the sauce on top. Cook for another 5 minutes at 400°F (200°C) so the sauce can start to turn a little caramelized.
Serve:

Take the buffalo cauliflower out of the air fryer and serve it right away with celery sticks and the sauce of your choice.

Tips for Recipe

Thoroughly Dry Cauliflower: To get a crispier structure, make sure the cauliflower is dry before you coat it in batter.

Don’t Put Too Much in the Basket: If you have to, cook in batches so that air can flow properly. Too many people can make the cooking uneven.

Try Different Spices: You can change the batter’s flavor by adding other spices, like chili pepper for more heat or nutritional yeast for a cheesy taste.

Use Different Sauces: For a fun change of pace, try using different sauces like BBQ or teriyaki.
Make it vegan: Make sure the batter is made with a plant-based milk and the buffalo sauce is vegan-friendly.
