Applesauce Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter melted and cooled
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg room temperature
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cups unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 tsps baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsps baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Prepare two trays by lining them with parchment paper and preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 180 degrees Celsius. Butter should be melted and let to cool.

Put the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a bowl that is slightly larger than medium.

Mix the butter, brown sugar, and sugar together in a large bowl using a whisk. The vanilla, egg, and applesauce should be added. Whisk until the mixture is smooth.

After adding the dry ingredients, continue to mix until a cookie dough that is soft is formed. Please don’t overmix! The chocolate chips should be added and then mixed in.

Roll the cookie dough into six balls and lay them on the cookie sheet that has been prepared. Bake for thirteen to sixteen minutes. My time was sixteen minutes.

In order for the cookies to be ready, the edges should be a golden brown color, but the interior should have a very soft appearance.

Taking the cookies out of the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes on the hot pan before serving them warm or after they have totally cooled down, and then enjoy!
