Over the course of this vast undertaking, reforestation and environmental restoration are being pushed in a variety of different ways, the most important of which are as follows:

1. Ecosystem Restoration

The restoration of damaged land and ecosystems is the main goal of the Great Green Wall. Replanting native trees and plants contributes to soil stabilisation, biodiversity revival, and general environmental health—all of which are critical for the local wildlife and communities.

2. Improving Food Safety

Enhancing agricultural productivity, the project aims to reforest and manage land sustainably. Communities can increase food security and fight hunger by cultivating crops and raising livestock more successfully through the use of agroforestry techniques and the creation of more fertile soil.

3. Adapting to Climate Change

By storing carbon dioxide, reforestation activities help to mitigate the effects of climate change. Trees contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas levels by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere. This is especially crucial in the Sahel, where droughts and other extreme weather events have been made worse by climate change.

4. Establishing livelihoods and jobs
